The full-length documentary film which tells how Portsmouth FC went from boom to bust and was then saved by its fans.
The full-length documentary, which starts with Pompey winning the FA Cup in 2008 and climaxes with the league title in the balance after the fans raised £5m to save the club from oblivion, is being featured in the 2020 Melbourne Lift Off Film Festival, and can be found under the ‘Pathfinder’ Feature Film category.
Lift Off Global Network organise a series of festivals each year, which take place in a number of major cities around the world, showcasing the work of emerging independent film directors. The Melbourne leg of the festival runs from November 23-30.
Our Club Director Barnaby Fox said: “For the Pompey story to be selected for an international film festival is a wonderful achievement for the production team, club and contributors.
“Although 17,000 miles away from Portsmouth, as my current home, Melbourne played a big part in the editing and coming together of the film. It also served as the first location outside of the UK to have a cinematic run of the film last year.
“In a year where film festivals have been derailed by COVID, this year's Lift-Off festival will be showcased online and I'm really excited that the film will be broadcast to a new audience.
“Here’s to creating a new wave of Pompey fans down under and around the globe when they see this amazing story.”
The festival will see the film initially judged by a Global Social Crowd, made up of those people who watch films at the Festival which will be available via Vimeo On-Demand.
The films which gain most traction with audiences will then go forward to a Lift Off Internal Judges round who will grade and select the best film of the festival and other categories of awards.
To watch all the films in the festival for just AUD $12.10 (approx £6) and vote for Our Club go here: https://checkout.liftoff.network/pathfinder-features-melbourne-2020
